The story of V&A Lane mirrors and amplifies the modern story of Wynns winemaking- respectful of the Estates history which goes back to the 1800’s, and on a path of continual evolution, both in the winery and the vineyards.

Amongst the patchwork of Wynns vineyards on the farmed terra rossa strip, one special area is V&A Lane, a long straight road surveyed in 1851 which was the old district boundary between the historical electorates of Victoria and Albert.

In 2008 the idea to shape something new out of this unofficial, subregion took hold, coinciding with the opening of Wynns’ new small open fermenter area, which created new spaces for experimentation. The resulting wines have a modern appeal being fresh and spicy, yet still maintaining the succulent and silky palate structure of Shiraz that can proudly take its place on the world stage.
