ITS BACK!! After a 2 year COVID hiatus, the prestigious Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Marquee returns to the Penola Racecourse!
Celebrate the 41st annual 36°South Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Day with the who’s who of Coonawarra in the exclusive 36°South Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Marquee, where over 700 guests will enjoy a full day of premium trackside hospitality.
This all-inclusive Marquee package includes a 7.5 hour beverage package of Coonawarra fine wines, entry into the racecourse and marquee precinct, gourmet food – breakfast, lunch AND afternoon tea featuring 36South Beef, with wine auctions, fashion prizes, live music and live racing action.
Package Commences 9:30am | Package Ends 5pm
Refund Policy: The Coonawarra Vignerons Cup will proceed in line with SA Govt. COVID restrictions applicable at the time of the event. Refunds will not be extended for change of mind or change of circumstances. Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event under the direction of SA Govt. authorities and will determine refund options at this time.
Event Start: The Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Marquee opens for guest access at 9:30am. Breakfast is available from this time.
Event access: Please ensure you are wearing both your lanyard and wristband for entry to the marquee and for the duration of the event. (If you have not received these prior to the day, your event passes will be available for collection from the Coonawarra Vignerons desk at the entry of the Marquee).

Package Inclusions: This all-inclusive trackside package is fully catered including breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, with a 7.5hr bevarage package. A smorgasbord of Coonawarra’s finest wines, espresso coffees and water is available throughout the day. Beer and spirits can be purchased from the Penola Racing Club Bar and consumed in the marquee. No BYO Food & Beverages.
Dress Code: Attendees are encouraged to wear neat, smart casual. Race attire is welcomed.
Fashions in the Marquee: Open to exclusively Marquee guests, judges Kellie Nobes and Ashlee Kalantarian will be selecting a shortlist of qualifying guests, with winners to be announced prior to Lunch. Prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed male, best-dressed female and best millinery as selected by the judges.
Super Sweep: $10 tickets will be available for purchase from Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Committee staff, based on runners in the feature Race 7 – 36°South Coonawarra Vignerons Cup. Great prize winnings to be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings. Qualifying tickets will be drawn at 1:30pm.
Entertainment: Australian TV and Radio Presenter Jules Schiller will our official Master of Ceremonies, with local limestone coast musician Shaun Brown providing the music throughout the day.
Betting facilities: Live bookies are available to take your bets in the marquee. Alternatively, guests are welcome to place bets in the designated Penola Racecourse Betting Ring.
Betting facilities: The imperial auction has long been a highlight of the Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Day, and in 2023 the collection of wines is as impressive as ever Eight one-off 6- Litre imperial wines will be up for grabs to the highest bidder. Presented in a bespoke box, and specially labelled for the 2023 36° South Coonawarra Vignerons Cup this premium assortment of wines will be auctioned at approx. 2:45pm SA Time.
External bids will be accepted via phone with prior registration. Register your interest to participate as an external bidder here. Registration for external bidding must be completed online by 4pm Tuesday 10th January 2023. (T’s & C’s apply)
