Constellations and Cluny at Zema Estate invites visitors to slow down and savour the simple pleasures of a Coonawarra winter night.
Set among the region’s iconic terra rossa soils, this intimate evening combines warm hospitality, storytelling and the beauty of the night sky. Guests begin in the barrel hall with a warming bowl of soup and a glass of Cluny, enjoying the comforting rhythm of winter in wine country. Stories of family, land and heritage are shared, reflecting Zema Estate’s deep connection to Coonawarra.
Local night sky enthusiast and photographer Ockert Le Roux then guides guests through the stars above, sharing his knowledge of the constellations, supported by striking astrophotography captured in the region. The experience continues outdoors among the vines, where the clear, unspoilt skies of Coonawarra offer a rare opportunity for stargazing.
This uniquely local experience celebrates the quiet beauty of winter – crisp air, glowing skies and a glass of red in hand – offering a relaxed and memorable way to connect with place, season and the landscape.
This event is part of Coonawarra Cellar Dwellers, running throughout July.
