Coonawarra Grape & Wine Incorporated, known as the Coonawarra Vignerons (CV), is a non for profit entity that supports local Grapegrowers and Winemakers by facilitating the promotion, marketing, technical innovation of the region. We are seeking an Executive Officer (EO) to lead the organisation, drive the delivery of its Strategic Plan, and ensure long-term sustainability.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Full Time Salary [Part time and flexible arrangements will be considered]
As the Executive Officer (EO) for Coonawarra Vignerons, you will play a pivotal role in leading and representing one of Australia’s premier wine growing regions.
Based in Penola, Coonawarra Wine Region in South Australia, this position is responsible for driving the Association’s strategic priorities while ensuring its financial and operational sustainability. [Physical presence in region is beneficial but not mandatory].
Reporting to the CV Board, the EO is responsible for elevating Brand Coonawarra nationally and internationally, strengthening advocacy with government, industry, and media, and ensuring members benefit from a clear return on investment. The role oversees finance, governance, operations, and revenue diversification via acquisition of partnerships, sponsorships, and grants.
As Coonawarra Vignerons Executive Officer you will be responsible for:
- Governance of CV. Providing strategic leadership and direction to the organisation, ensuring the region’s interests are strongly represented
- Driving financial sustainability through membership value, partnerships, and sourcing sponsorships and grant funding.
- Elevating Brand Coonawarra nationally and internationally. Promoting and marketing the Coonawarra wine region through events, partnerships, and targeted campaigns
- Advocating on behalf of the region’s wine growers and businesses, liaising with government bodies and industry groups
- Fostering a collaborative and productive relationship with the Board of Directors and members
- Identifying opportunities for growth, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organisation
To be successful in this position you will be an experienced leader with:
• Proven success in strategic leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Marketing and brand-building capability, ideally within wine, agriculture, tourism, or FMCG.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills.
• Advanced communication, planning and relationship-building skills.
• Innovative and progressive outlook with the ability to adapt to new trends
• Knowledge of the wine sector and global markets (desirable).
Salary will be commensurate the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
