Four trophies, one unforgettable achievement.
The Cowra Wine Show is one of the biggest and oldest regional wine shows which was held late last month.
Past committee member Terry Coates had said in 2001, “the Cowra Wine Show exists to serve the Australian wine industry as a whole. We look to serve big and small producers, new and established companies, and we look at quality across the whole spectrum. So you can be starting out in the wine industry or you can be someone who is highly acclaimed, you can still feel free to enter”.
The results were announced on Saturday evening (5th August 2023) and Majella’s wines shone brilliantly.
The 2021 Majella “The Musician” was awarded the Imperial Hotel Trophy for the Best Dry Red Blend, an outstanding result.
The 2021 Composer has exceeded expectations, by securing not just one, but three
trophies: the Breakout River Meats Trophy for the Best Cabernet Sauvignon, the Benedict Cowra Quartz Trophy for the Best Red Wine of the Cowra Wine Show AND the Trophy for the Best Wine of Show.
Majella Winemaker Bruce Gregory was modest in attributing the success of the wines to his own winemaking approach.
“The success we have derived is a result of the tireless efforts of the entire Majella team.” Mr Gregory said
“From the nurturing of the vines to the careful crafting of every wine batch by our skilled winemakers, each member plays a crucial role”.
“Together the team has dedicated countless hours of hard work and commitment to the family owned business” Gregory added.
