Golfers enjoy sensational day out with Coonawarra wines

Penola Golf Course played host to the 3rd annual Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations Golf Day on Friday 2nd October, in what was the first of many feature events to take place during the month long Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations Festival.

Twenty-six (26) teams converged on the Golf Course on what was a sensational spring day, 27oC and clear blue skies, for an all-inclusive Ambrose competition, hosted by the Coonawarra Vignerons and presented by the Limestone Coast’s SAFM and 963 TripleM.

Coonawarra Vignerons Acting Executive Officer and Events & Marketing Manager Heidi Eldridge was thrilled with the level of interest for the day, which has grown year upon year. “We had a tremendous response to this year’s Golf Day event, with team registrations filling well in advance of the day.

The event attracts a combination of Winery Industry teams, sponsors and public and is a fabulous networking event, as well as being an all-round great day out with Coonawarra wines being showcased throughout the day.”

Players were treated to a glass of Sparkling Cabernet and gourmet morning tea before taking to the pristine 18 hole course, with an assortment of Coonawarra wines served with lunch and accompanying cheese and nibbles in the afternoon.
