Congratulations to Loreline Kerlidou of St Peters, SA, who has been drawn as the winner of the 2020 Cellar Dwellers “Passport Trail” competition, which was offered during Coonawarra’s Cellar Dweller month in July.
A time where international travel is off the cards for all Australians, and many a passport is stashed away, Coonawarra Wine Region gave its visitors a chance to gather stamps in a passport for a different kind during July.
For the duration of the month, visitors to Coonawarra were encouraged to visit at least 5 cellar doors, collecting a stamp on the Cellar Dwellers Passport Trail entry form as they progressed from one tasting room to the next. At the end of the July, all eligible entries went into the running to win a half dozen of Coonawarra fine wines, along with a double pass to the Coonawarra [Decade]nce event in October. The total prize was valued at $220.00.
“The Passport Trail has always been a popular activity during this month, with the intent to reward those that take the time to visit 5 or more wineries”, said Heidi Eldridge, Coonawarra Vignerons Marketing & Events Officer. “It’s a great way to encourage people to discover what is on offer in the region, whether it be on one single day of wine touring, over the course of a weekend or over the entire month. It adds another element of fun to the visitor experience”.
Over the course of July, our Cellar Doors were pleased to see large volumes of visitation, despite the Victorian border closure.
Coonawarra Marketing & Events Officer Heidi Eldridge said that many Cellar Doors in the region had reported their busiest ever July. “Notably, there was a significant number of visitors from metropolitan Adelaide and beyond, many of whom not previously travelled to the region and were excited to experience the various offerings from Coonawarra cellar doors during Cellar Dwellers.”
Loreline was one of 285 entrants to take part in the competition and looks forward to receiving her Coonawarra Wine prize pack and attending the Regional [Decade]nce Tasting event in Coonawarra, during Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations in October.
