After nearly two years and 14 events around the country, GRAPES OF MIRTH
has announced its second wine and comedy spectacular in Penola next month.
Having debuted the popular comedy-wine event in January 2019, GoM returns to the Penola Racing Club in 2020.
The Coonawarra event on Saturday, January 18 will feature GoM host-founder, Merrick Watts (Merrick and Rosso, The Hollowmen, Studio 10), as well as his “partners in wine”, Peter Helliar (The Project, How To Stay Married), Claire Hooper (The Great Australian Bake Off), Nazeem Hussain (Orange is The New Brown, I’m a Celb) Dave Thornton (The Beep Test, The Project, Upper Middle Bogan) and Danielle Walker (GetKrack!n, Best Newcomer MICF 2018)
GoM has championed a winning formula after recognising the value of an afternoon featuring Australia’s best comedians in some of Australia’s best wine regions – an experience that has subsequently seen a steadily growing community of GoM devotees.
The Coonawarra Vignerons have been instrumental in supporting this event and will be represented on the day with twelve different wine producers participating; punters will be spoilt for choice! And, as always, Grapes of Mirth will be bringing their incredible music master DJ Pedro Moshman on the road with them – he’ll keep the festival vibe going between sets and after the comedy show.
