Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations Golf Day Results

In the first week of the month long Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations, last Friday saw the return of the annual Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations Golf Day, hosted by the Coonawarra Vignerons and presented by Hit 96.1 and 963 Triple M at Penola Golf Course.

Despite patches of rain throughout the day, the weather was otherwise ideal with little to no wind on a pristine 18 hole course.  Fourteen teams took to the greens playing a social four ball ambrose, with teams and individual participants traveling from as far as Melbourne and Sydney to take part.

Players were treated to a glass of sparkling cabernet and breakfast slider on their arrival to the course, followed by an assortment of Coonawarra wines served with lunch and a grazing station in the afternoon.

The Lament Quartet, consisting of Dave Lament, Tyson Ploenges, Kym Vaughn and Ray Patching produced a winning nett score of 51 2/5, taking home the converted red jackets.

Rounding out the placings with an overall gross score of 57 was the team of James Norcock, Henry Norcock, Brian Norcock and Ryan Paech from Naracoorte.

Olivia James, Executive Officer of Coonawarra Vignerons said the day was a great success and thanked the event presenting partner for their support  “This year we welcomed Hit 96.1 and 963 Triple M as our presenting partner and we look forward to continuing this relationship in 2020.  We extend the opportunity to more regional business to participate in what is a great day out be it on the greens or through sponsorship.”
