Coonawarra Toasts to Roadshow Success

The Coonawarra Wine Tasting Roadshow – Cellar Door in the City event can be hailed a great success following sold-out events across the nation.

Held across five capital cities last month, the national tour attracted strong ticket sales, with the Perth event selling out in record time.

The Coonawarra Wine Tasting Roadshow is a platform for Coonawarra wineries to showcase their wines to a national audience alongside their counterparts, with attendees presented with the opportunity to meet and chat to the winemakers and faces behind each label.

Coonawarra Vignerons Executive Officer Olivia James said “The Coonawarra Roadshow has been occurring in different formats for decades. Naturally, this has seen varying wineries attend year on year. Our Melbourne and Adelaide events were well received with our largest Coonawarra contingent, 27 wineries showing their wines”.

Mrs James attended each event and was thrilled to see each showcase drawing largecrowds of wine lovers. “In Melbourne we experienced our largest audience with near on 700 in attendance and 500 attending at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide, where attendees learned more about the Coonawarra Wine Region and our world-class wines”,  Mrs James said.

Coonawarra will be on the road again in August 2020, with preparations underway to  ensure that the event continues to provide the ultimate tasting experience. The roadshow committee is now reviewing its strategy to build on its recent success.
