Fruitful Investment for Treasury Estates

Treasury Wine Estates has added to its property portfolio with the purchase of the Wetherall Coonawarra vineyards..

The Wetherall property comprises 329ha of which 283ha carries vineyards planted primarily to cabernet sauvignon and shiraz, with smaller areas of chardonnay and merlot vines.

According to TWE, “The vineyards produce high-quality fruit, which will be used to help meet Treasury’s growing global demand for premium wines. ïn addition to the vineyards, the purchase includes water licences, a cellar door under lease and other infrastructure.”

“Wetherall Coonawarra and TWE have worked together to ensure the vineyard employees were offered ongoing employment with TWE”.

Treasury said the transaction was in line with TWE’s strategy to increase its access to premium fruit.
