With more than 3,000 visitors each year, there’s a reason the Coonawarra Cup has the reputation as the State’s best country race meet, combining a spectacular day out showcasing the region’s best food and wine.
On Thursday 18 January, racegoers will descend on the stunning back-drop that is the Penola Racecourse for the running of the 36th Annual Coonawarra Vignerons Cup.
Hosted by Coonawarra Vignerons, the sold-out marquee will be guided by guest MC Jane Ferrari. Wine Communicators of Australia named Jane Ferrari its 2012 Wine Communicator of the Year for her long-term effort in the global promotion and education of not only Yalumba, but Australian wine in general. The marquee offers 728 guests with the chance to sample the region’s world class wines, while watching an eight-race program unfold. Guests will also have the unique opportunity to purchase a six litre imperial bottle of Coonawarra wine to take home. We are also looking forward to Kate Hastings, South East stylist of Perception Personal Styling announcing who will take away one of the following three fashion titles:
Coonawarra \ Fashions in the Marquee Deland Engineering Best Dressed Female; Coonawarra \ Fashions in the Marquee Balnaves of Penola Best Millinery; and Coonawarra \ Fashions in the Marquee Best Dressed Male.
“The highly sought after Coonawarra Vignerons marquee tickets sold out in record time this year and we continue to receive calls seeking access.” said Olivia Nunn, Coonawarra Vignerons Executive Officer.
“It is a credit to the Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Committee and Members to have grown this day to the size it will be on January 18” said Olivia.
Racegoers not fear if they have missed out on this marquee, as there are other ticket options still available. General admission tickets are $15, concession tickets are $10 and children aged under 16 receive free entry.
