Bellwether is an imaginative, creative space where good things happen – the events are not to be missed, bringing together great music, art, food and a whole lot of fun!

Sue Bell created Bellwether, based at the 1868 Glen Roy Shearing Shed in Coonawarra. She focuses on special parcels of fruit with no ferment larger than 1 tone primarily for herself and some contract work for local growers wanting to start their own brands.

As you turn off the Riddoch Hwy say hello to the Bellwether hairy Highland Coos or our donkey Gerado. Photogenic apple loving animals! You will then most likely be met at your car by Mabel their maremma who guards the chickens.

Wander through the produce garden, established with the magic of the 1860’s sheep poo from under the old shearing shed excavated during renovations.

Ring the bell to be greeted at the arch doorway by Sue, Steve or Rachell. Wander through the architectural beauty, evidence of the wealth of wool in this region in the late 1800’s. See the winery, kitchen and stunning ‘wool sorting’ dinner table.

Gather around one of their shared tables and enjoy a wine tasting, including their top end, usually about 6 wines for $10. In winter they have homemade soup and their daily sourdough.

You and your closest friends, or a bunch of work colleagues can enjoy a table of twelve dinner seated around a wool sorting dining table. Immersed in an 1868 shearing shed now a boutique winery, dining with your own personal chef and winemaker. Every night is a unique menu of local seasonal produce with wines selected by the winemaker. A memorable experience of food wine and conversation.
