SUMMARY:Brand's Laira | Comfort Food and Cabaret
DESCRIPTION:The multi-award-winning dinner and show experience ‘Comfort Food Cabaret\,’ is coming to Coonawarra for the Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival.\n\nComfort Food Cabaret tells the story of Michelle\, who as a child dreamed of being the next Mariah Carey or Tina Arena.\n\nRaised in a loving but dysfunctional working-class Lebanese/Australian family\, Michelle grappled with expectations around marriage\, career and family\, before swapping her diamond encrusted microphone for a set of premium kitchen knives.\n\nDuring the performance\, Michelle dishes up tales of disastrous first dates at suburban buffet ‘Sizzler’\, explores the questionable charms of apricot chicken and pineapple on pizza\, and reveals how cooking and sharing a meal provide the ultimate connection during difficult times.\n\nAudiences will taste each dish that’s cooked before their eyes as they’re taken on a hilarious and heart-warming journey by a truly outstanding vocalist (and cook!) backed by her seasoned musicians. It’s the ultimate degustation of music and food\, featuring delicious dishes that draw on nostalgic comfort food effortlessly weaved into a soundtrack of Etta James\, Cold Chisel\, The Rolling Stones\, INXS and more.\n\nDATE | Friday 19 May\n\nTIME | 7pm – 9.30pm\n\nCOST | $90pp – Includes a 3 Course meal and Glass of wine on arrival\n\nBOOKINGS | Essential
