Weekend 2- It’s time to Blend it Up

Please be advised that due to COVID restrictions imposed on the Wattle Range Council Area, SPECIAL EVENTS scheduled to take place between Monday 4th October and Sunday 10th October may have been suspended or postponed.

UPDATE: As of Friday 8th October, COVID restrictions imposed on the Wattle Range Council Area have been lifted, thus allowing our region to operate once again under Level 1 restrictions – the COVID SA ‘norm’. While a number of SPECIAL EVENTS scheduled to take place on the weekend of 9th+10th October have been impacted, all other food and wine experiences, blending activities and tastings at Cellar Doors will proceed as per the programme.

This week it’s all about the Blend…

Cabernet doesn’t just taste great on its own, it is also the ideal blending variety. To showcase this our wineries are offering a range of tastings featuring Cabernet blends at their Cellar Doors.

Not only can you celebrate, educate and activate your senses with an array of bespoke tastings, you can also try your hand at creating your own Coonawarra blend – yes, that’s right! Try your hand at blending your own wine!

Aside from the blending activities, you can get hands-on with a cooking class at Parker Coonawarra or simply relax and enjoy an afternoon of La Dolce Vita at DiGiorgio Family wines. There are plenty of options to graze your day away with produce platters and picnic packs available at many cellar doors across the region.

If long lunching is more your thing be sure to reserve your table at Hollick Estates ‘Upstairs’ Restaurant, Coonawarra’s premier restaurant overlooking the vines.

From cheese to chocolate, light bites to long lazy lunches, intimate dinners and family fiestas you won’t be left hungry this weekend.

If you do have the littlies in tow, don’t miss the Cabernet Carnival at Rymil Coonawarra! There’ll be food trucks, live music, beer + cider, coffee, wine and lots of kids activities.

And let’s not forget the star of the show – Cabernet! You’ll have the opportunity to discover why Coonawarra is regarded as one of the most premium Cabernet producing regions in the world. Taste, compare, savour and celebrate Coonawarra’s signature variety at cellar doors across the region.

Note: To avoid disappointment, bookings to events and cellar doors are highly recommended. Our Celler Doors are aligned with the current health regulations, applying occupancy limits with seated indoor tastings as per State requirements for everyone’s safety and comfort.
